My Amy's Farm CSA Basket for the week of 5/7

Well I had a great basket this week. We had green onions, carrots, broccoli, Nero Tondo Radishes (black radishes), Swiss chard, Valencia oranges, kale, salad greens and Warrigal cabbage. What a haul.
I used the Warrigal cabbage (New Zealand spinach) in a stir fry with pork. The Warrigal cabbage really doesn't have lots of flavor so you can add it to just about anything, but it does have lots of vitamins so it's a really good green. You do have to parboil it because of the oxcidates in it that are toxic, but once you parboil them they are fine.
something new for me this week are the Nero Tondo radishes also known as black radishes. They are Spanish and are really dense and spicy compared to the usual radishes that you get. We had some like a crudites just to try them. They are really spicy, but my husband really liked them. the oranges are really sweet and I have been enjoying them just out of hand, usually for a bed time snack.
